GlobalSat DG-200 GPS Data Logger - Description

Le GlobalSat DG-200 GPS data logger enregistre vos données de voyage (ou celles de quelqu'un d'autre) en utilisant les signaux GPS. Ainsi, vous pouvez voir l'itinéraire que vous avez parcouru à pied ou en voiture, et combien de temps vous êtes resté à un endroit.

Le DG-200 enregistre l'heure, la date, la vitesse, l'altitude et la situation GPS de vos intervalles préétablis. Les données GPS enregistrées sont ensuite envoyées vers votre ordinateur (Windows/MAC OS X) par l'intermédiaire d'un port USB. Les données peuvent aussi être facilement exportées grâce à Globalsync afin de les utiliser sur Google Earth ou Google Maps. Le DG-200 est également idéal pour la géolocalisation.

Great little GPS datalogger!

A small light and convenient GPS data logger that worked straight out of the box and ddoes what is says with long battery life and quick recharge time. It is reasonably fast to get a satellite lock and the receiver is sensitive enough for me to simply leave the device switched on and logging in my jacket pocket while driving and walking about (outside!) for many hours. I bought it for geotagging photographs (embedding lat, long and altitude in the photo Exif data)and it works a treat for that. The support on the GlobalSat forum is useful too! Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it is a bit jittery when stationary and tends to record spurious movements, even when configured to stop logging below preset movements/speeds. Otherwise seamless integration with geotagging software, Google Earth, etc. You can't beat it at this price!

Small and light

Unit is very small and light, can even be worn around the neck using the supplied hang tape. It seems to get a GPS fix pretty quickly and has lots of memory! The software that comes with it is NOT Mac compatible and GlabalSat have confirmed this unit does not currently work with Mac's. Would have been a 5 stars otherwise.

Easy but not perfect

At first must say main purpose of the gadget, data logging and gps signal receiving works well. And goes on: displaying logs on Google Earth works well... in fact very imressive start Google Earth and let it show the trip... But the problem was when I wanted to see how long I had travelled or average speed, GlobalSat software didn'n show them. That was the main reason why I purchased data logger. Too bad. Anyway data can be saved in gpx format that can use in third party sofware. GpsarPro works fine, but hope to find some freeware program... Another which may work is Sports Tracker, I didn't try it because I thought it's for mobile. I will try it later...
